Education:

We love to share our practice and experience, with the next generation and practicing artists.

All our workshops are adaptable to a number of skills and experience levels. Get in touch if you’d like to book a workshop and we can curate our offer to fit your participants.

Our Workshops

2 hours

The age old problem: solved. Our most beloved workshop, we share our methodology for how we begin to talk about our work before we’ve started to make it. This supports us in gaining funding more quickly for our work, better communicating with partner organisations, collaborators and audiences. We take a practical and structured approach to this to give you a framework to work from and develop to fit your own practice and works.

At the end of this workshop you will have a succinct brief for the project you are working on, and an understanding of the structure we share to use for future projects.

This workshop is aimed at Higher Education and professional artists.

Talking About Your Work Before You’ve Made it

2-4 hours.

We share our unique approach to dramaturgy (structure & form) in our work. This is a practical session where we introduce our process, and guide you through using this process for a work you’ve already got an idea for, or for an entirely new work that we will ideate together.

At the end of the session you will; understand a number of story structures and how to apply them to non-traditional works, have a visual methodology for mapping out the structure and form of your work, a model you can take directly into the studio to start creation.

This workshop can be adapted for A Level, Higher Education, and professional artists.

Dramaturgy for Devised Performance

1- 3 hours

We share our approach to storytelling and character creation for circus artists. In this session we share our process by showing you how we do it, creating a micro piece to dig into how we work this way in the studio. We break down our approach into actionable tasks that can be straightforwardly implemented by circus artists to quickly create characters and worlds.

At the end of the workshop you will have a toolkit of theatrical prompts and tasks that you can utilise in the creation of any new circus works.

This workshop can be adapted for ages 15+. This workshop can be aimed at circus artists, and to eager circus directors.

Theatricality in Circus

2-4 Hours

In this workshop we share some of the practical creation tools we use to make devised theatre and circus works. We will create scenes, show structures and processes for how to link all these things together. We will work with whatever resources and skillsets are available in the room, so no acting or circus skills required (however they are VERY welcome)

At the end of this workshop you will have created some new work and have a number of practical approaches to create devised work that you can take into your own practice.

This workshop can be adapted for A Level, Higher Education and professional artists.

Devising Toolkit

2 hours

In this workshop we share our methodology for integrating our producing and creative practices, approaching making new works with practical considerations or creative limitations in mind. Our ethos for this workshop is ‘how can we actually make this work happen’ and using the resources we have available to guide our creative choices.

This workshop is great for artists looking to self produce, companies who want to make their work happen, and producers who want to expand and deepen how they collaborate with artists.

This workshop is aimed at Higher Education and professional artists.

Integrating Your Creative and Producing Practices

2 hours

A lecture and workshop style session where we demystify marketing for artists and companies, focussing on your relationship with your audiences. We will look at marketing strategy and budget, artwork, print, social media and a practical to-do list to reach audiences.

By the end of the session you will have an understanding of what your offer is to audiences and how to find and communicate with them, and an actionable to-do list to take into your next marketing campaign.

This workshop is aimed at Higher Education and professional artists and arts marketeers.
