Our story
Hours is an acclaimed theatre and circus company led by Artistic Director Daisy Minto. Beyond theatre and beyond circus, we create performance and arts experiences, to touch hearts and entertain. Our practice is interdisciplinary & collaborative; drawing predominately on theatre, circus arts, cabaret and installation. Liveness and congregation are crucial, structural and essential in all our work.
We occupy a unique position as a theatre company using circus arts as an integrated form for storytelling, blending text and story with highlevel circus arts and theatrical dramaturgy. We approach our creation practice with curiosity, collaboration and a spirit of innovation.
We work with theatres, festivals, public bodies and businesses to create live performance experiences that share stories with a broad audience. This includes our ongoing collaboration with the UK Space Agency around our production Space Junk that explores the space debris crisis and space sustainability.
Our work has toured nationally and has been programmed at venues such as Norwich Theatre, Jacksons Lane, Royal and Derngate Northampton, Pleasance Theatre, Exeter Phoenix, Camden People’s Theatre, Assembly Edinburgh and Underbelly.
Our work has been shortlisted for the Pleasance Charlie Hartill Award 2023, Untapped Award 2022 and Les Enfants Terribles Award 2018, described by critics as ‘the play Britain needs right now’ (Mumble for In Addition 2019) and ‘brilliantly-written, cathartic and genuinely novel’ (FringeReview for Wild Onion 2022).
Alongside our live performance work we run extensive eduction work: including an annual 8 month long course delivered in partnership with Harrow Arts Centre developing young interdisciplinary performance makers.
